Romantic wedding at Alfriston Gardens

Romantic wedding at Alfriston Gardens

Alfriston Gardens has the perfect backdrop for your romantic wedding, and with floating drapes, twinkling chandeliers, stunning flowers, dry ice and sparkles, it was a remarkable fairytale wedding for Selina and Phil.

Selina had a longstanding wish of getting married on her birthday, and her wishes were granted when she married the love of her life during her birthday weekend. What better way to celebrate a milestone than with a wedding celebration shared with loved ones.

Persian ceremony

The Persian ceremonial traditions have been practiced for thousands of years. The sofreh aghd is a wedding ceremony spread with symbolic items where the traditions are exchanged:

  • Sugar, rubbed over the couple to bring in more sweetness.
  • The mirror, symbolising light and purity.
  • The candelabras, representing clarity and energy.
  • Honey signifying sweetness. (After the ceremony the bride and groom each dip their pinky finger in the cup and feed the honey to each other.)

Kind words

“Best wedding decisions:  I can’t recommend Maria, my photographer enough! I met her at a local wedding fair … She’s unreal and not only did she create some of the most incredible pictures for my wedding but now I use her for all our family events like my children’s’ parties and she’s became a great friend.  Selina, xx”
