Summer Surrey wedding with teepees

It’s hard to beat an outdoor British summer wedding in the rolling countryside of Surrey. Harriet and Liam tied the knot at St James Church in Abinger Common.  Their wedding reception took place at St Mary Cricket Ground in Holmbury. Where despite some over head cloud, (ideal swing bowling conditions) even the fickle British summer played ball and the couple were able to enjoy an outdoor wedding with their nearest and dearest. The tall teepees erected added to the occasion. They made a lovely backdrop for the pictures while and gave a unique space to host the reception.

As a Sussex based wedding photographer, based on the south coast, it was another opportunity for me to work within the Surrey hills. The landscape is slightly different and I always like to bring in and maximise the natural surroundings wherever possible. Be that the architecture or the countryside.

I very much enjoyed this wedding. Harriet and Liam were a lovely couple and I was made to feel so welcome by their family and friends. I first met Liam at a previous wedding. He was playing guitar in a band and he told me he was getting married shortly. It’s always nice to secure a booking when the client has already seen you ‘in action’ and appreciates your work. It meant a great deal to me and I was so pleased to receive this glowing review from the bride and groom upon receipt of their hand-crafted wedding album.
